About Us

Ron Hoy’s interest in smithing began at an early age, when as a young boy, he would take old aluminum tv antennas, heat them in the gas hot water tanks’ burner, then pretend to forge them. The interest continued to grow, and by highschool, Ron was forging blades with more skill and precision.
Eighty percent of Ron’s knives are ground from existing materials (circular saw blades, two man crosscut saw blades, power hacksaw blades, and one was even made from an old pipe wrench). He enjoys making history-based knives, especially uisng natural materials for the hilts (wood, antlers, etc.) and hand-forging guards. He is also capable of Japanese clay tempering, which gives the visual effect of a Hamon. Ron is also able to engrave, acid etch, and scrimshaw, and also makes custom sheaths (available with snake-skin inlays).

Ron also works with wood, as well as leather, and is capable of crafting leather portraits, instrument straps, holsters, sheaths, bible covers, belts, and bolo ties.
